The light is brighter than it usually is.
How come you're wearing glasses on a day like this?
Take them off so you can see the rays,
as they hit your eyes and crawl down your face.

We used to use the night
to do the things we thought were right.
We used to think that the light might
set your heart in flames and me alight.

I used to dream of mushroom clouds.
Smoke that could block out the light.
Black flames that could eat the sun.
Replace day by permanent night.
