Chameleon

by Il Divo

You took me runnin' up a wrong way street.
When we got there, you said, Can't you read ?
I must be blind, but now and then I see
Another number where mine used to be.
CHORUS:
You keep on changin' your face, like a Chameleon.
You keep on changing your face like a Chameleon.
I say what's up, and then you say it's down.
I see triangles, and you say it's round, round, round.
Saw an empty glass; you said it's full.
Lord, it's so hot, then you come on cool, cool.

The last I heard of you
You were somewhere on a cruise in the Mediterranean
So imagine my surprise to see you very much alive
In the English rain again
And I can still recall wet afternoons
When we were small and simply childish
But you've created your own ghost
And the need you have is more than most to hide it
Oh, Chameleon, you're stealing your way back into my eyes
Beyond a shadow of a doubt
You're a devil, you're a devil in disguise
Do you really change me, or am I going crazy
Chameleon, Chameleon, Chameleon, you're free again my child
I remember still those lazy summer days
We'd kill out hunting danger
And we were alien to all outsiders
We had no desire to talk to strangers

Have you strayed from the movement?
You're lost in a lie.
Contradiction is my worst fear,
I cannot see how you can block
The truth from your fucking ears.
Has it turned from a lifestyle
To a fucking trend?
You're too busy feeding your face
To realize what you've caused:
Pain and suffering
To a being as helpless as a baby.
You'll never see it my way
Until you stop giving in to your greed.
Deaf to the truth, blind to reality.
For once, can you take the attention away
From your hunger,
Look outside yourself
And see just what you created?
Pain, and suffering to a being
As helpless as a baby.

Chameleon

Silently
I am walking on
hollowed ground
Am I walking ?
I seem to fly.
Birds all around
mewhispering, gazing
Suddenly a voice or two
I turn aroundand
hardly can believe
in what I hear
in what I see
The Nightingale
talks to stone,
to a beast turning
red
and
green
and
blue
'I'm alive'
says the bird,
'I'm alive in here ',
The Chameleon smiles
It's fate
is it's youth,
never loved before,
never shared a tear
Darkness fills the air
and I realize
I do not fly anymore
No Chameleon,
no Nightingale,
no voice
Over there,
the riverside,
a bridge
On the other side
I see flowers
Everynow and then
a flower on the way
slowly getting pale,
slowly recovering
Beasts crawling, sneaking
silently weeping
but I don't seem to notice
Blue as I used to be,
till I found you
It's the Chameleon
never responding
silently nodding,
but never
spending a tune
Never
let someone in,
as deeply
as you did with
me
It's the
Chameleon
never responding
silently nodding,
but never
spending a tune
Is it worth a try
or will I drown ?
What better way
to die
in search of life ?
As I step on,
a CrushI drown,
I die
Happy though ...
Happy not to have
let a thing in life untried
a last view to
