Fortune Teller

by Paul MCcartney

Went to the fortune teller
To have my fortune read
I didn't what to tell her
I had a dizzy feeling in my head
Said she'd take a look at my palm
Said "Son do you feel kind of warm?"
And she looked into her crystal ball
Said "You're in love."
Said it could not be so,
Not with all the girls I know.
Said when the next one arrives
Looking into her eyes.
I left there in a hurry
Much to my big surprise
The next thing I discovered
The fortune teller told me lies
So I ran back to that woman
Mad as I could be
Told her I didn't see nobody
How she made a fool out of me
At last something shook me
As if it came down from above
And now the fortune teller
And I fell in love

Fortune Teller

by Modest Mouse

I only wanna seem good
In front of the right people
My aura's yellow like a coward
Tonight, I'm gonna melt some faces
With Gatling gun social skills
We dance to the beat
Whatever sound comes out anyway
So why not kill, someone you hate
When the cactus are in full bloom
I'm gonna ask you to be my wife
And it's cold enough to see your breath
I'm taking the only thing that's mine
But first, I'm gonna melt some faces
With Gatling gun social skills
Dance to the beat
Whatever sound comes out anyway
So why can't I kill
Someone I hate

A part of me stands confused again
Watching it slip right
Through my hands
Put a finger on it now before it's gone
All of it gone it's all so wrong
Nothing could ever be so wrong
Put a finger on it now before it's gone
And leave a message by the door
Before you're gone
Maybe crystal ball is fortune teller
Maybe cards laid out as fortune teller
In the future tense as past
And fortune present here at least
Couldn't be more tied up by you
Couldn't you be forgiving too
All you ever think is
Everything gone wrong
Nothing I do can stop this slide
I feel like part of something died
All you ever think is
Everything gone wrong
And leave a message by the door
Before you're gone
Maybe I don't need a fortune teller
And maybe I don't want this
Fortune teller
Little box that never lied
I guess I'm keeping this inside

Went to the fortune teller
To have my fortune read
I didn't know what to tell her
I had a dizzy feeling in my head
Then she took a look at my palm
She said Sonny, you feel kinda warm
She looked into her crystal ball
And said You're in love
I said uh could'nt that be so
I'm not passion with the girls I know
She said when the next one arrives
You'll be looking into her eyes
I left there in a hurry
Uh looking forward to my big surprise
The next day I discovered
That the fortune teller told me a lie
I hurried back down to that woman
As mad as I could be
I told her I didn't see nobody
Uh why'd she make a fool out of me
Then something struck me
As if it came from up above
While looking at the fortune teller
I fell in love
Now I'm a happy fellow
Well I'm uh married to the fortune teller
We're happy as we can be
Now I get my fortune told for free
Now I'm a happy fellow
Well I'm uh married to the fortune teller
We're happy as we can be
And I get my fortune told for free

I'm not a fortune teller
I won't be bringing news of what tomorrow brings
I'll leave that up to you
I'm not a fortune teller
Don't have crystal ball
I can't predict the future
Can't see nothing at all
It doesn't mean i'm afraid of all the things that you say
But I just think we should stay
Stuck in the moment today
And as the seasons roll back
No matter how hard I try
Summer will end and the leaves will turn again
I don't know why you're acting like this
I don't know why you have to do it again
Why you have to go, and ruin the night
Don't worry about tomorrow's mess
I never knew how the future will go
I don't know what to tell you, i'm not a fortune teller
I never change, but I want you to stay
I don't know what to tell you, i'm not a fortune teller
I don't like watching TV
I don't know what that all means
And your american dream, baby it just stays in me
I know what i'm thinking, may not be in your mind
I know the song i'm singing, it's not your favorite kind
It doesn't mean i'm afraid of all the things that you say
But I just think we should stay
Stuck in the moment today
And as the seasons roll back
No matter how hard I try
Summer will end and the leaves will turn again
I don't know why you're acting like this
I don't know why you have to do it again
Why you have to go, and ruin the night
Don't worry about tomorrow's mess
I never knew how the future will go
I don't know what to tell you, i'm not a fortune teller
I never change, but I want you to stay
I don't know what to tell you, i'm not a fortune teller
This feeling, keeps growing, these rivers keep flowing
How can I have answers when you drive me in questions
I never knew how the future will go
I don't know what to tell you, i'm not a fortune teller
I never change, but I want you to stay
I don't know what to tell you, i'm not a fortune teller
I never know how the future will go
I don't know what to tell you, i'm not a fortune teller
I never change, but I want you to stay
I don't know what to tell you, i'm not a fortune teller

Well I see, because this is my window
Your questions, with every move I make
So much time, I filled up with answers
To why my feet, will always hold their ground
Need to be the one
Redefine yourself
See it in your mind
This is all a game
Do it all again
Redefine yourself
See it in your mind
This is all a game
This is my fortune
Well I see, the sun in my window
That questions will remain
This is my fortune
