Old Enough

by Micah P Hinson

Never thought I’d live to be old enough
To be old enough to feel like this and
Never thought I’d figure it out enough
To be loud enough to make you listen
On and on the meadows sing
They ring out merry the view
On and on my conscience blared
And shared my longing for you
Never thought I’d live to be old enough
To be bold enough to make a difference
Never thought I’d figure it out enough
To be proud enough to take my mission
Never thought I’d live to be smart enough
To have heart enough to find a better way
Never thought I’d live to be old enough
To have soul enough to pass perdition
Never thought I’d count up the years enough
To be clear enough on my convictions
Life ain't all it claims to be
It clings to me when it’s blue
Life brought all its pain to me
And shamed my longing for you
Never thought I’d live to be old enough
To be told enough to lose the bullies
Never thought I’s able to learn enough
To be firm enough to live life fully
Never thought I’d live to be strong enough
To be young enough to find a better song
Then you came along
Never thought I’d live to be old enough

Old Enough

by Neil Young

Shes old enough
She knows enough
Shes thrown up
So throw her
Out to me
And I'll treat her like she was mine
Not my belief
You got your way and I'll get mine
And I can't eat
I can't sleep
Oh, But Thank you for coming
And why do we always laugh
While we're in this discussion
Should have known enough
Never grown enough
Alone enough
To know my
Way will be
The path I wanted to try
If it fairs to be
Good for me than I'd rather die
And I can't eat
I can't sleep
Oh, But Thank you for coming
And why do we always laugh
While we're in this discussion
Black words always lead to something
Bury her cause her time was cut thin
All the while you just stood and stared
Never cared to help we just got carried away
Lately it seems like my dreams have started to die
It occured to me on the inside I guess so have I
And I can't eat
I can't sleep
Oh, But Thank you for coming
And why do we always laugh
While we're in the last ones coming
Standing here with my two feet
Enjoy it now cause it won't be
Some way
Some how
The things that keep me alive
aren't livin here anymore

Old Enough

by Pink floyd

You look pretty in your fancy dress
But I detect unhappiness
You never speak so I have to guess
you're not free...
Dear, maybe when you're old enough
You'll realize that you're not so tough
And somedays the seas get rough
And you'll see...
You're too young to have it figured out
You think you know what you're talking about
You think it will all work itself out,
but we'll see...
When I was young, I thought I knew
You probably think you know too
Do you?
Well do you?
I was naive just like you, I thought
I knew exactly what I wanted to do
Well, what you gonna do?
What a fool...
And how have you gotten by so far
Without having no visible scar
Knowing, knowing who you really are
that can't see...
What you gonna do... What you gonna do... What you gonna do now?
What you gonna do... What you gonna do... What you gonna do now?
What you gonna do... What you gonna do... What you gonna do now?
What you gonna do now?
Yeah...
The only way you'll ever learn a thing
is to admit you know absolutely nothing, Oh nothing...
Think about this carefully
You might not get another chance to speak freely
Oh freely...
Baby when you're old enough,
Baby when you're old enough,
Baby when you're old enough,
you're not free...
Yeah, you're not free...
